Fortera, an advanced materials manufacturer, has raised $85 million in Series C funding to accelerate the global deployment of its low-carbon cement technology, ReCarb®. This innovative process captures CO2 emissions from existing cement production and converts them into low-carbon cement, offering a scalable and cost-effective solution for decarbonizing the cement industry. With the new funding, Fortera plans to expand its operations, including full-scale plants capable of mineralizing 165,000 tons of CO2 annually while producing 375,000 tons of low-carbon cement. Backed by leading investors, Fortera aims to rapidly commercialize its technology to significantly reduce the industry's carbon footprint.
