New York, NY (December 7, 2023)CREtech, the leading global technology and sustainability conference company devoted to Reimagining the Built World, announced that executives from WilkinsonEyre and Stanhope PLC will join CREtech London’s keynote stage as speakers in a can't-miss Double Header Fireside Chat titled, “Inside the City Tower Bucking the London Office Leasing Trend” at Magazine London on 8th-9th May 2024.

The biggest names in UK regeneration and urban planning will join forces at CREtech’s May conference in London to reveal how they are future-proofing the large-scale projects redrawing our cities. The chief executive of developer Stanhope, David Camp, and Oliver Tyler, director of world-renowned architecture practice, WilkinsonEyre, are the visionaries behind one of London's most sustainable, digital and trend-bucking tall towers. Together with CREtech's Head of Content Emily Wright, David and Oliver will discuss the large-scale projects demonstrating the power of innovation in real terms including 8 Bishopsgate, a 51-storey office building in the heart of the City that is proving that there is life in the capital's struggling office market yet. A mixture of impressive sustainability and tech credentials, good design and a generous handover of space for amenities has resulted in a landmark structure with the power to bring employees back to the office happily and willingly. The story of 8 Bishopsgate is about more than making a mark on the London skyline. It is about the impact the right building can have on the commercial vitality of a city in challenging times.

Oliver Tyler, Director, WilkinsonEyre, is highly experienced in delivering well-executed projects within demanding timescales and securing complex planning consents on a wide range of project types, from commercial office schemes to sports arenas and high-profile infrastructure projects. Oliver’s extensive portfolio includes leading the completion of 8 Bishopsgate, WilkinsonEyre’s tallest building in London and being one of the major contributors to the City’s Eastern Cluster. His other key projects include the recently completed Elizabeth Line Liverpool Street Station, the £500 million reconstruction and oversite development of London's Bank Station and the Emirates Air Line cable car over the River Thames. Oliver has a particular interest in the technical development of materials and the advancement of building envelope design. He is passionate about the careful detailing and expression of materials to create the finely crafted buildings that are a hallmark of WilkinsonEyre’s architecture. Additionally, Oliver has guest lectured at Oxford Brookes University, is an editorial board member of the New Steel Construction magazine and sits on the judging panel for the Structural Steel Design Awards.
