Redwood City-based drone startup Skydio today revealed it raised $100 million, bringing its total raised to $170 million. Coinciding with the fundraising, Skydio unveiled a new family of drones — X2 — and software solutions designed to simplify inspections and enterprise-oriented workflows.
Testing buildings — not just people — could be an important way to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Why it matters: People won’t feel safe returning to schools, offices, bars and restaurants unless they can be assured they won’t be infected by coronavirus particles lingering in the air — or being pumped through the buildings’ air ducts. Autodesk leads $7 million investment in construction software startup Bridgit

Canadian construction software company Bridgit today announced the close of a $7 million funding round led by Autodesk with participation from Salesforce Ventures, StandUp Ventures, Sands Capital, and Export Development Canada (EDC). Bridgit was founded in 2013 by CEO Mallorie Brodie and COO Lauren Lake and integrates the data contractors and construction site managers need to understand current demand and plan for the future.

Onyx unveils guidelines, protocols for reopening office buildings

Onyx Equities is set to reopen its office buildings this week after developing guidelines in consultation with health care, environmental and design experts. John Saraceno, a managing principal with the company, said Onyx has been operating its office buildings for essential businesses under social distancing restrictions. Yet he said there is “a growing urgency among many tenants to return at scale” as the region moves forward after the COVID-19 outbreak.
