Cambium, a startup focused on reducing wood waste and optimizing the timber supply chain, is leveraging AI-powered technology to connect tree care companies, sawmills, and manufacturers—ensuring that more salvaged wood is turned into usable lumber instead of being discarded.
By streamlining transactions and improving coordination in a highly fragmented industry, Cambium enables companies to buy and sell wood more efficiently while reducing carbon emissions from unnecessary transportation.
With $18.5 million in new funding, the company is developing AI models that will help digitize traditionally pen-and-paper businesses. The goal is to automate data entry from phone calls and text messages, making it easier for industry professionals to track inventory and manage sales without disrupting their workflow.
As the demand for sustainable building materials grows, Cambium’s approach—linking technology, sustainability, and supply chain efficiency—could redefine how salvaged wood is repurposed at scale.
