NEW YORK, NY – September 24, 2026 – CREtech, the world’s leading community of professionals devoted to technological and sustainability innovation in the built environment, today announced that Sharon Wilson Geno, President of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC), will speak at CREtech New York 2026, taking place October 20–21 at the Javits Center in New York City.
Géno will participate in the session “2027 Outlook: CRE Leaders on the Challenges, Opportunities, and Predictions Shaping Every Asset Class,” on October 21 at 9:55 AM.
The session will bring together senior leaders from NMHC, CREDA and CoreNet Global for a forward-looking discussion on the market forces expected to shape commercial real estate in 2027. The conversation will examine the headwinds and tailwinds facing office, industrial, retail and multifamily, while exploring where capital, innovation and opportunity may be moving next.
As President of NMHC, Geno brings more than 30 years of experience across housing, affordability, community development, policy, operations and legal affairs. Throughout her career, she has worked with for-profit, nonprofit and governmental organizations on a wide range of housing and community development issues.
Prior to joining NMHC, Geno served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Volunteers of America National Services, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit affordable and mixed-income housing operators. During her tenure, the organization operated 240 properties and nearly 13,000 units across more than 40 states.
Her background also includes extensive legal and policy experience spanning housing development, government contracting, corporate governance and regulatory compliance. Géno has additionally worked on affordable housing legislation and advocacy at both the local and national levels and has taught housing law and policy at Georgetown University and The George Washington University.
