Amazon’s Global Real Estate Leader John Schoettler Retires After 23 Years and 65 Million Sq. Ft. Expansion

John Schoettler, Amazon's VP of Global Real Estate & Facilities, will retire at the end of 2024 after 23 years. He played a key role in expanding Amazon's office space from 1 million to 65 million square feet across 60+ countries. Schoettler's leadership included navigating the company through significant growth, pandemic-related office adjustments, and real estate community initiatives. Shannon Loew, who joined Amazon in 2023, will succeed him.
