Industrious CEO Jamie Hodari has carved a unique path in the co-working industry, contrasting sharply with WeWork’s Adam Neumann. While Neumann was known for his bold, high-risk strategies that briefly made WeWork a $47 billion company, Hodari has taken a more measured approach. Industrious operates on a management-agreement model, sharing profits with landlords instead of taking on long-term leases. This strategy limits potential upsides but significantly reduces risks, especially during downturns. As a result, Industrious has steadily grown, now managing over 200 locations, including WeWork’s former Midtown Manhattan headquarters. Hodari’s careful expansion and recent acquisitions, like the merger of Breather with Deskpass, have positioned Industrious as a leader in the evolving co-working industry, offering a sustainable and adaptable business model in a post-pandemic world.
