Balto Energy, a startup focused on home decarbonization, has introduced its Solar-Led Electrification Design (SLED) tool to help California homeowners optimize their investments in rooftop solar and electrification systems. With electricity rates high and increasing in the state, homeowners face complex decisions about combining solar power with electric heat pumps, induction stoves, and EVs. Balto's software integrates data on home energy characteristics, solar production, and utility tariffs to model and predict energy usage patterns and costs. This allows homeowners and contractors to evaluate the long-term value of various solar and electrification projects. The tool's precision aims to enhance financing options by providing accurate savings forecasts. Supported by a $1 million pre-seed round and partnerships with major solar contractors, Balto is positioned to address the intricacies of California’s energy market and promote sustainable home energy solutions.
