NEW YORK, N.Y. – June 30, 2022 – Berkadia announced today the promotion of Gary Mumford to Chief Technology Officer. He will oversee Berkadia’s Engineering teams as Berkadia continues to expand its technology capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the commercial real estate industry. Mumford will report to Damu Bashyam, Berkadia’s Chief Innovation Officer.

Mumford’s promotion comes on the heels of the appointment of Bashyam as CIO in March 2022, as part of Berkadia’s deep commitment to strengthen its digital transformation efforts. In his new role at Berkadia, Mumford will be responsible for driving the technical vision, strategy, and execution across Berkadia while meeting short-term and long-term needs.

 

Mumford has been with Berkadia for over three years, joining the organization as VP of Data Governance to establish and advance the firm’s efforts to leverage data. Mumford has transformed the tools and insights available to Berkadia clients that enhanced their decision making. Most recently, he served as Chief Data Officer.

Prior to Berkadia, Mumford worked in Enterprise Software as Business Area Executive and Vice President of Engineering for Rocket Software, Senior Software Developer and Team Lead for Microsoft, spanning a 22-year career in technology, building and managing over 50 software and services products internationally. He holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Utah Valley University, graduating cum laude.
